Cattle Crossing the "Clear Fork of the Brazos"

Located 15 miles North of Albany, Texas, COLLINS CREEK RANCH covers 5,000 acres in Northern Shackelford/Southern Throckmorton Counties.  The ranch borders Texas Highway 283 and lies between two large ranches with active wildlife programs.  The "LAMBSHEAD RANCH" borders the Collins Creek on the North and the "NAIL RANCH" borders the Collins Creek to the West.  The Clear Fork of the Brazos runs along the Northeast boundary of the ranch. Collins Creek is a "working cattle ranch" with registered Angus and Hereford cattle.  As you visit Collins Creek you will see how Collins Creek Ranch has blended a working cattle ranch into one of the BEST WILDLIFE AREAS in the state that features trophy class white tail deer mixed with accomadations as "comfortable" or as "rustic" as the avid hunter or guest may desire.  Sit back and enjoy the outdoors at its best!

Located at Collins Creek Ranch is the site of the old Fort Griffin.  This famous fort was know to be frequented by colorful characters of the era such as DOC HOLLIDAY, BAT MASTERSON AND BILLY THE KID.  Thousands come to Albany each year to see the locally produced and directed outdoor musical "THE FANDANGLE" which tells the story of the settling of Shackelford County and the founding of the military outpost and frontier town of Fort Griffin.
